Hair Bow Holder

So, I saw this idea on a blog and I knew I could make one myself! Unfortunately I don't have a before picture, but you can use your imagination!

I went to an antique mall near our apartment and found this awesome old wooden frame! It was beautiful even before I painted it! I used ivory spray paint and then hot glued light pink ribbon to the back and attached a wire for hanging. I gave this as a gift to my friend Britney's baby girl Annika who just turned one!

under $100...

YAY! We just bought a TON of groceries for under $100! I'm not sure I've been this excited in forever! We got our Kroger Weekly Ad in the mail today and poured over it trying to find good deals! We got really excited when we saw they had so much stuff on the 10 for $10 deals....and the BEST part was that you didn't even have to buy 10 of them even if you bought one everything was still $1! Whew! We were walking down an aisle comparing prices and always ending up with the 'store brand' rather than the expensive brand when I said, 'It's fun how we are shopping like we are poor people' and Rushing said, 'That's because we ARE poor'...lol. Okay, maybe that was funnier in my head.

But that leads to my next thought. Poor, what is poor? Because poor isn't walking into your kitchen, equipped with a stove, fridge, microwave, etc and opening your fully stocked pantry and having to 'decide' what to do for dinner. There are millions of people around the world who sleep in the same room they cook their meals. Who have two choices for dinner: rice or beans. Microwave? What's that? We don't know anything about being poor.

Daily we are reminded of how blessed we are. Our nice homes, cars, furniture, clothes, etc...yet we always want more. More money, more clothes, a nicer car, bigger house, my own laundry room. Laundry room? I have been to places where allllll laundry is washed in the kitchen sink and hung on trees to dry. We have it made.

I would delve further into this topic but I have to be at work in less than 8 hours so I need to quiet my brain. :)
